The M26 Pershing is an American heavy tank named after General John Joseph Pershing that limited used during World War II, the Korean War and the Chinese Civil War. The production of M26 lasted due to many factors and only 20 M26s were produced in time for World War II, M26 Pershing and the M46 Patton were companion in the Korean War. Because of its weak engine and poor reliability, this type was discontinued in 1950, withdrew from Korea in 1951 and was completely replaced in the US military from 1952 to 1953. However, a small number still remained and used by Italy until 1963. The M26 tank is an American medium and heavy tank, shortly used in World War II and the Korean War. It was named after General John J. Pershing, who led the American expeditionary force in Europe during World War I.
