SKU: German Panzer III type L RC Medium Tank
A German medium tank - Panzer III, developed in the 1930s and used during the Second World War. The full technical name of Panzer III is Panzerkampfwagen III (Pz. Kpfw. III) - roughly translated: armored battle vehicle. It was designed to support infantry and to attack enemy armored forces. In the Polish campaign in 1939 and the French campaign in 1940, Panzer-III performed quite well. Then accidentally, Panzer-III encountered two new opponents from the Soviet Union, the T-34 and the KV series in 1941. These two tanks had main guns and armor that was much thicker and stronger than the Panzer-III. Immediately, the Panzer-IV was upgraded to equip the main cannon 7.5 cm KwK 40 to replace the tank role of Panzer-III, while the Panzer III was transferred to the 7.5 cm KwK 37 L / 24 long barrel gun with The main role was to support infantry. Production of the Panzer-III for the aim of the battlefield officially ended in 1943, but its tank frame was still in production until 1944 to provide self-propelled destroyer tank - StuG-III.
